What is an affiliate and why would I want to be one?
Have you ever been asked where you bought something, or asked what you thought of something you bought? If you were happy, I bet you gladly explained where you bought it, right? Well, an affiliate is someone who does just that, but gets paid for it!
By signing up as an affiliate (which is free, very quick and very easy), you get paid 50% commission on my products, simply by telling other people about them.
How does it work?
Once you have signed up, you simply log in to the affiliates' pages and get your unique links. These links contain your personal affiliate code, and will ensure that you get the commission when someone buys a product.
These links can be sent in e-mails to your family and friends, added to your blog or web site, etc. When someone clicks on a link, and makes a purchase, your affiliate code is stored with the details of the sale. You then get paid a commission on those sales (see below). The more people who see your links, the more money you'll make!
The affiliates' pages give you all the help you need to get started, including plain text links, banner adverts, web site adverts, e-mail promotions, etc. Don't worry if you don't know what these are, it's all clearly explained!
How and when do I get paid?
All you need is a PayPal account, which is free and easy to set up. When you sign up as an affiliate, you enter your PayPal e-mail address, and any commissions that you make are paid to it. It's that simple!
Payments are made on the 1st and 15th of each month, or the following Monday if these fall out on a weekend. Commission is paid no sooner than 30 days after the sale date.
How do I see how many people clicked my links, and how many bought?
The affiliates' pages contain reports that show you the number of people per day or month who clicked on one of your links, as well as the total value of any sales made per day or month. You can also see details of individual sales, so you know who bought what.
